Philippe Dartnell, the founder and pioneer of Kitesurfing Goa (originally known as Yogi Kiting) was born and raised in India. He began his career in 2001 teaching power kiting and kite land boarding in the UK, where he spent many years. In 2006 Philippe returned to Goa to set up Yogi Kiting on Morjim Beach, the first kite surfing school in India, and became certified as an IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) Instructor.
North Goa, particularly Morjim Beach, is now a major hub for international kiteboarders and Kitesurfing Goa continues to be the leading school in India attracting students from all over the world.
Philippe has kiteboarded in India, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and UK and has certified over 100 students. He is passionate about teaching and promoting the sport and believes that anyone, with a degree of determination and enthusiasm, can get involved.
